- Putting him on a Battery Tender overnight, to give his (new in 2022) battery a full charge after it spent the weekend continually re-starting the motor during all the starts-and-stops of the training course. I could notice the starter starting to lag an extra half-second towards the end of the second day...
- Drilling the ends of six fatigue cracks in his plastic windscreen, which is an old technique commonly used on heavy machinery to try to stop the crack from propagating further through the material, by intercepting its end.
- Calling KTM dealers in Cranbrook, Nelson, and Idaho in search of a new left-hand mirror mount, to find out that the part is on back order until mid-September.
- Routine chain love
Efforts to get a haircut in Golden were also a bust (two weeks' lead time required) so I tagged along to the driving range instead and limbered the joints by whacking some balls into the green, green grass. We had lunch at a pub called The Taps, where their official t-shirts say, "The Taps. Golden, BC. Don't be a dick." Thanks O & F for the hospitality!
