Early starts and late finishes are, I guess, good things when it comes to a motorcycling season. 2021 was kind enough to at least offer that. For the first time I can remember, I managed to clock 1,000 km before the the end of May (1,036 to be exact), so yay. I kept that up through June, culminating in my annual traditional midnight ride to the end of the road on the summer solstice. Returning from a camping trip in early July, I discovered a puddle of fork oil on the garage floor under Badger's front end, which kicked the moto season into its second phase -- finishing the remainder of my 30,000 km scheduled maintenance campaign (plus a fork service). Badger spent August and September at home in various states of disassembly, finally emerging from the garage in the first week October. |
Lastly, I've sunk another round of effort into my toolkit, and the lower half of the "About Badger" page has been expanded with the details. Two main objectives: (a) Consolidate the contents of the KTM stock 1190 toolkit with my old KLR-focused kit, which eliminated 1.3 kg of duplication; and (b) Validate the contents of my toolkit by using it is as much as possible while performing my 30k service campaign. Now there's no denying that we're ready to party like it's 2022.
