Today was a superb day, filled with great roads, jaw-dropping volcanic scenery, perfect weather, and good company. Over dinner, the two ride leaders declared that in their 11 months of continuous trip guiding in South America, for the combination of these factors, today was the best day guiding they've ever had together. "It felt less like work and more like just a bunch a friends riding and travelling together," said Alain. Salut to that!
Batteries are running low, so I'll let the pictures do most of the talking. It's mind-boggling seeing today, and remembering that just yesterday, not a few hours away, we were overlooking Pacific beaches as scenic as any.
Day total: 246 km, 9h15m
Trip total: 504 km
Start: Valdivia, Chile. End: Petrohue, Chile.
Soundtrack: Group riding seems to occupy the same brain cells normally stimulated by music when riding solo. So just earplugs, again.
