This class, put on by the self-described "washed up" desert rally racer and former Cycle World editor Jimmy Lewis, and geared for adventure riders seeking to upgrade their safety and skills, was the centrepiece of my migration south and something I'd been looking forward to for over two years since my first failed attempt to attend in late 2014. Day 1 was spent mostly in a gravel pit in first gear on a KTM 525, doing progressive drills on balance, braking, skidding, turn initiation, turn control, riding hlllsides, and wheel lofting. |
All in all, Nevada has not been so kind to me. I'll wait a bit before deciding whether I want to re-enter the state.
