From Banff to the Columbia Icefields, it was chilly! My hands were borderline cold in my new, super-vented gloves, and even my thighs were chilled in spite of long johns and the zip-in thermal liner inside my riding pants. However, I found two more vents on top of my helmet which I didn't know existed, and closed them up to maximize the available toque effect. Paradoxically, as I tracked north and afternoon gave way to evening, it warmed up and became a downright pleasant night for a ride through the mountains...
